Acans and Leds

Ive had them under T5 and leds and no growth. But they dont die either. Ive had two frags with at least 7 heads when i bought them 5 years ago and they still have 7 heads. Look great but zero growth.

I've goten good growth on my 2 headed frag it recently became seven headed within the past 3 months have had it for almost 1 year though....... I run t5 / led supplement frankenlight

Appreciate the feed back. Are you running a hundred percent on all colors and are you using a gradual curve up and down for your time? Also how many hours are you running for a complete day cycle?

I will get my graph up tomorrow. I get crazy growth in my acans. Several babies popping up all over . I have a couple single polyp frags with 6-8 babies popping out.

My biggest issue is I would love to put my favia and acan collections on the rocks in my tank but with trying SPS it makes it impossible. All my stuff sits on the sand ��. I will get a par meter soon to measure. Most acans should be kept between 40-200 par for best coloration.

I only have 2 and they're growing under t5 bulbs . only have 2 but they're growing. have had them about 2 months.

Well just hit the mother load of Schedules and advice for Radion LED set up and schedules. Already learn t a lot. Didn't even know about calibrating your Radions first

I noticed a great difference with the T5s corals look much better.

Added t5s to my Mitras LED setup and within days I am noticing the ultras that were starting to shift to solid orange are recovering their color.
So, yeah... LEDs are great but supplement.

I think a lot of it has to do with placement. A friend sold me a CC highlighter a few weeks ago and we both took pics today of ours. The first pic is his under T5's and the second pic is under gen 2 radion pros

The best mixture I think is T5s with LEDs I have had great success with everything in my tank. I went from having just LEDs to just T5s and now I have T5s with reefbrite LEDs and my tank is looking better than ever.

This has to be a water and care issue. Not lights.

ya I think so the same. I have led on my tank and have 2 frags of acans. one frag is ok and the other looks great but still has the same heads from wen I got it.

I am having incredible growth on cans. one colony has about 25 babies popping. Another single head has 7 babies, another 3. they love to reach for the light and a little dirty water.
