Acans for sale

Folks,

I've got to get rid of my acans. I love 'em, but they no longer thrive in my tank. In fact, they are wasting away.

I was growing acans fine before I got my water quality good enough for my SPS to be really happy. Granted, you can throw lots of food at a tank, use cranking skimming (and other filtration methods) and have both enough food to keep acans happy, and enough filtration to keep water parameters in line for SPS. But my little skimmer will not accommodate that, so keeping my NO3/PO4 wonderful for SPS is really hurting the acans.

Then there's the LED issue. All the acans I have were KILLER colored at one time - all cost big money. But they can color morph over time under LEDs, and mine have. I've got no idea if the killer colors will come back or not under different lights. You'd have to research that. If they do, you'll be thrilled.

Anyway, I'm selling them before they waste away completely. But if I cannot get these prices, I'll just give them away to friends.

$40 for this one. It's not as big as it looks, only 2" across.

$15 for this single head. It's about 1/2" across.

And for these three, I'm asking $15 for the middle single head (1/2"), and $10 for each for the two small outside clusters.

And finally this trio for $25.

They all come from a pest free tank of happy, happy corals... except for a few LPS that just don't get enough to eat.

Local pickup only. I'm in Westport.

Please send a PM if interested. Thanks for looking. :)

God, I love all of these. Especially that single head! You can expect a PM from me if I am heading out your way anytime soon.

Would love that Collin. They'll be fabulous again I'm sure if they are in the right environment. And I'm sure you'd give them a good home.

And at the moment, I've gotten a couple "I'll take those... " communications. But until someone actually shows up - and none have - these are all still up for grabs.

THE SALE IS OFF - CANCELLED

I've gotten feedback and promises for purchase. But no action. So I'm pulling the plug on this offer. Why?

I just looked at these puppies under Royal Blue only lighting, and all I can say is WOW! Some of the colors are still INSANE! Did I say insane? Yes - INSANE. Just not so evident in daylight lighting. They cost stupid money for a reason. So I'm going to make an attempt to rehabilitate these corals.

If I can't turn them around, I'll sell them. They are WAY too nice for someone not to growing them out. But I'm inspired to give it a shot...

Thanks for looking. :)

I'm glad you're inspired!!! I can see from the pics the potential of those bad boys

If you decide to repost them, shoot me a pm, and I'll be over there that weekend. The timing was just off for me this month, was waiting and drooling

Yeah... under the Royal Blues they were pretty awesome. Don't look like much in daylight though. I've got some of the KZ LPS Amino Acid that I've been putting a drop a day in to see if it helps. It certainly causes all their feeding polyps to come out.

If that does not get things going soon - dieback being replaced by new growth - I'll put them back up for sale. :)

It's also possible that the AA could cause other problems in the tank, in which case they will definitely be going back up for sale.

But they looked so good, I've gotta try. ;)

Thanks Collin. I used to target feed acans in my old tank. And it worked well. That blue cluster used to be about 4 to 5 times bigger than it is now.

But I gave up target feeding to cut back the nutrients it added to the tank. Plus it was a bit of a PITA. I'm going to see how this KZ LPS AA works. So far, no additional algae that I can see, no adverse reactions. And more feeding polyps from the acans. :)

That's pretty funny Glen!

I may have to put them back up for sale... will give it a little while longer. The KZ Amino Acid LPS seemed to pick up some colors, and stimulate a little growth. But it also stimulated a little algae on the glass, so I cut back on dosing frequency from daily to every three days. I'll need a little time to see how that works out.
:)
