Acans next to Clams and Ricordias

Howdy guys.

Was wondering if it is safe to keep clams and ricordias next to acans. Or will they cause trouble for one another?

Cheers.
Jake

acans put out nasty feeding mucus (for lack of a better description) that can dissolve neighboring corals if it catches hold. I keep my acans a safe distance from anything. The ricordia in particular, I think, would become lunch...

Here's a pic of my echinata getting a hold of a piece of kenya tree. I've also had my lords do this to zoas... It's kind of like a snotty spider's web that catches and dissolves whatever it touches.

I had a yuma that completely destroyed an acan lord I had, nothing but skeleton in the morning. Oops!

Saved a polyp or two, growing it back out.
Ricordia yuma have a nasty sting. Florida isn't as bad IME.

I had an Acan frag fall on top of a batch of Zoa's for a short time. It wiped all of them out, and the Acan looked like normal in less than 30 minutes after separating the two.

I agree with everyone else. Keep the Acan away from all other corals. I don't know how the clam will react.

Alrite Looks like one bommie with be acan dominated.... the other bommie will be rics and zoos. It should still be ok to have some sps "capping" the tops of both bommies yeh?

I have a Derasa that keeps snuggling up to an Acan even though I move it away. I haven't seen any damage. It's been going on for two months now.
