Acans on a fine sandy substrate?

I just picked up a couple acan colonies can I keep them on a fine sand substrate? Kinda new to LPS I'm running LEDs Thanks.

I mount them on live rock rubble, but I also have some on the sand.

In my limited experience they are happy mounted on rock, but can be happy on sand too. Mostly IMO they appreciate not being moved, and that CAN be harder on sand. But but not necessarily.

I've had acans on the sand. They usually do fine. When they start growing off your frag disc, they'll just use the sand, bind their skeleton to it and essentially it turns the sand into new rock.
