Acanthurus nigricans vs japonicus

Everything I've read says Acanthurus nigricans and Acanthurus japonicus are both very similar looking, but one is a very easy to keep fish, and the other is much more difficult. Unfortunately, everything I've read seems to mix these up - some say nigricans is easy to keep and japonicus is difficult, and other things have it the other way around. Which is easy to keep? Or are the both equally difficult and authors are writing based their person experience which is different for each author?

Bro, I have had many tangs since I been in the hobby. My advice to you is to get the one you like but get it to be comfortable so it can eat. Once you get it to eat, you are well on your way. Another thing I would pay attention is to not put another Acanthurus species tang in there unless introduced at the same time. The bottom line is, as long as that fish is comfortable then it should be fine.
