Acanthurus pyroferus

hello,

i have a 5 months old, 80g, reef tank (actually i don't have any corals yet, just fish, live rock and a rose bta).
5 days ago i purchased a small Acanthurus pyroferus. the problem is that it would not eat anything i've tried (mysis, artemia super shrimp, cyclop eeze flakes). it is constantly grazing off the rocks but not eating any food i give, along with the other fish. i know it is getting something because it makes a lot of green poo. however, since my tank nutrients are very low (nitrates and phosphates are zero), i don't have too much algae and i'm afraid it will starve. i had other tangs before, but, besides algae, they would eat meaty foods also. this one doesn't :( .
have you had any experience with this species? should i be worried?
please, any advice is welcome...

thanks!

Try nori/seaweed on a clip or rubberbanded to a rock. You could also try adding garlic to the food you've already tried. It may take awhile before he's willing to eat prepared foods, though I've found tangs usually take to it quickly.
