Acceptable alk swings

What is an acceptable alk swing over a 24 hours period for an SPS tank?

Let me know what are the alk swings in your current tanks.

I dose Alk at night. In the morning Alk is about 8.5 (the color starts to turn with 8 drops, but not fully until 9). In the late afternoon Alk kit turns color fully at 8. So my tank ranges from 8-8.5ish. I have thought about spreading the dose out throughout the day and night to tighten up the parameter, but Alk raises ph as well, so I choose to dose it when ph is at lowest. I'm on dosing pumps and it would be easy to change, but if it's working as is why bother. Lol

I asked a question about this a while ago.

Before it blew up, I kept my tank at 0.2 or less. Occasionally it hit 0.5 but usually the swing was 0.2 for the most part. Target was 7.5 as my tank just seemed to look best that way.

I aim for 8.5dkh, but as long as it reads between 8-9 I'm happy. When dialing in my calrx I went from 7.5 - 9 overnight and had zero issues.
