Acceptable Fish List for my 175 bow ?

Upgrading my 90gallon bow to a 175 bow in the next week or so.

These are the fish I have in mind for the system.

Blue hippo tang (large) *have in my 90 for long time now)
Lopezzi blue spot tang (juvi)*in QT*
Chocolate tang (juvi) *in QT*
Salifin tang (juvi) *in QT*
Diamond goby *have in my 90*
Neon goby *have in my 90*
Cleaner wrasse *have in my 90*
Royal gramma ? Should I keep the one I have from my 90?
(2) True Percs (medium sized) *in QT*
Six line wrasse (flatworm control)
(2-3 Yellow Tail Damsels (also flatworm control)

Is this a pretty good acceptable list ?

Can I add one or two more juvi tang? (Atlantic blue, Naso, Kole, Orange shoulder or Flame tomini tang ?? If so which would you pick out of those listed ?

I will do 15% water changes weekly or 20-25% bi-weekly. I'm pretty good about tank maintance. I wanna keep a nice healthy mixed reef


Am I doing it right or what ??

Would love to hear input/advice/do's/dont's

Sounds like a great set-up, I always think rock is the best filtration around, and you have plenty of it. Sailfins get big, I'm not the tang police (or even a tang fan), but I would say no more tangs. Other than that, your stocking list sounds pretty good. Tunzes are great, aren't they?

Post some pics when it gets up and running.

I dont really see any problems (other than maybe the sailfin).... I'd meshmod the G4 though. Its not going to handle the load stock.

I have the enkemat to do the mod, I just want to order a new impeller first incase I mess something up

Why would the salifin be a problem? Because it gets large?

I bought a juvi yellow eye kole today and hes in QT with the crew.

I'm done with fish now.

Should I trade the salifin to a local and replace that tang with a juvi orange shoulder or atlantic blue, or get a different type of fish instead ? I'd REALLY like to keep 5 tangs if I can possibly do so.

I love tangs if you all couldnt tell...

I'm hoping with the extreme amount of rock it will help in the fight for filtration, along with the 2 reactors, I have a 3rd I can put online if need be for nitrate media.



PS: I have 7 clams in my 90gallon now, Would like maybe 3 more. I have a orange digita colony, a green digita piece, and a pink birdsnest, I think thats all I'm gonna do for SPS, the rest are my softies, mushrooms,and zoos (I'm not a huge sps fanatic) I like LPS and Softies

I didn't mean you should get rid of the sailfin; I meant I think you have enough tangs. Like I said, I'm not a huge tang fan (I do have a sailfin and he's pretty cool) so I could be wrong. That is a pretty big tank, but adding anymore tangs in addition to what you had to start with (and the one you just bought) might be pushing it. Then again, it might not.

I'll just shutup now because I don't know where I was going with that. Your tank sounds like it's going to be pretty nice.

I had 6 tangs in my 150.It was fine but my tank had a lot of live rock.I do think it was a lot of tangs for a 150.They did fight when it came to feeding time but they were all well fed.At least you are going to a longer tank that will allow more swimming space.You also have the advantage of giving them a brand new home so they will establish there territory but they have a lot more space to do so.

No more fish man, your at your limit. That tank with 300lbs of rock is gonna be pretty tight for swimming room. Personally Id suggest limiting this tank to 2 tangs...but since you already have 4...

And if your putting all those fish in at once....holy shnikes what a nightmare.

Why a nightmare??

This is a new tank being stock with 300lbs of rock from an 2yr old tank

The only new thing is the 320 lbs of sand, which I should also note that the sand is to also fill my refugium underneath, maybe with 20-35lbs or so. I will "Seed" my sand bed with some sand from my 90 and I'll keep my old refugium to put on this system until the new refugium is full of the life.

I'm really thinking and hopeing I wont have any issues...
