accidental overdose

Hello. My wife recently bought a tang while I was at work and did not quarantine it like I instructed her to. Well a week later we see a few small white spots on him. Ive dealt with ich before so I went and got a bottle of ich attack. I was reading bottle and saw what I thoight said 15ML per 10 gallong. I have a 75 gallon so I added 4 tablespoons 60ML around 120 gallon treatment put into a 75. I realized after I was done that it said 5 ML not 15ML. Is this overkill? Will it hurt the fish or anemone?

first off Ich attack will not work for curing ick, but I'm not sure it will hurt anything. do a large water change just to be sure

So what medication should I use. I do not see the spots of the tang anymore but I doubt its gone.

Put your fish in a QT and treat them with copper sulfate. This is sold as Kordon Copper-Aid, Mardel Copper-Safe and Seachem cupramine. Run you DT fishless for 72 day to insure the ick is gone. Since you see not spots on you tang that means the ick cyst has left the fish and will rupture and to create more ick. The ick will die if you leave your tank fallow. The copper should be treated in a Qt as copper can seep in live rock, so best done in a QT and it will kill your inverts and coral.

Yep, its complicated and a PITA, but only way to rid your tank of ich. I would advise not using copper and treating all fish with tank transfer method. TTM is more involved, but you are not poisoning your fish.

If you do do copper, IMO please slowly raise the levels in your tank. If you add it quickly it may end up killing some sensitive fish, (Ex: Butterflys, angels). If you are keeping dwarf raising it too fast will kill it. Other way it to do a hypo. Slowly decrease the amount of salt in your qt to 1.010 to 1.013 specific gravity will do it. After the treatment slowly raise the specific gravity back to normal level.

I wouldn't use any form of copper against Cryptocaryon, especially not if you have sensitive fish like angels and butterflies.
It is a immunosuppressant toxin that may weaken the fish and bring out other infections they may also have but won't be cured by copper.
On top of all that it is quite tricky to maintain stable copper levels in saltwater and if you slip below the therapeutic level some of the Cryptocaryon may survive and come back several weeks later.
TTM is far less harmful for the fish and - if executed correctly - a sure way to get the fish ich free.
