How long should I drip acclimated an occelaris clown and is it a good idea to use stress coat in my aquarium after acclimating him?

an hours or so is usually good id skip the stress coat, its a pain in SW tanks and isnt much better in freshwater ones either.

i used to use it but have switched to prime and gotten the same results without the unwanted irritants thats in stress coat.

What is prime...I thought Stress coat is very good for the fish?
In my FW's I use either stress coat or novaqua.

Stress Coat is IMHO, The best in FRESHWATER! Used it for many years of Breeding projects.

In a Saltwater enviroment it's fine unless you have a skimmer (And you should) in which case the Aloe Vera in it will make the skimmer go beserk and overflow like a madman.

I do not use/recommend it for SW aquariums for that reason.

PRIME is a dechlorinator just as Stress Coat is. It does not contain Aloe though.

Personally, I don't use dechlorinators at all. I prepare my water way in advance so the chlorine evaps.

So basically if I am not running a skimmer it's ok to use stress coat?
It's only a 10 gallon nano, I have a HOB on it.

Yes, It won't hurt a thing. Unless you overdo it like any product.

"Compatibility: Stress Coat can be used with freshwater tropical fish, marine fish, invertebrates and coldwater species including koi and goldfish. Stress Coat will not harm aquatic plants. Stress Coat may cause foaming in marine aquariums using a protein skimmer. Stress Coat will not interfere with water test kits."

There shouldn't be chlorine in your water with a reef tank, as you SHOULD be using RO/DI (even RO water from the grocery store is better than tap water!!!) Stores around here sell 5 gallons of RO water for about $2. IMO it's well worth avoiding the troubles that can arise from tap water.

After purchasing my own RO system, I tested the water from each source and found that the tap water gave a reading of 350+ on the TDS meter, while the store RO was about 12, and the in-hime RO/DI was 0.

I am not worried about chlorine I just wanted to use it to condition the fish from the trip and acclimation and all...he is very healthy and he appears to be in VERY good condition.
