Acclimating Mushrooms

Hi. I'm new to keeping a nano reef. How do you acclimate mushrooms before putting them in your tank or do I just put them in?

Personally I just stick em in my tank, but acclimating them properly is the recommended method. I would drip acclimate them for an hour. Try to match the water there sitting in, whith the tank water for best results. But as I said, I dont' acclimate them in my setup, mushrooms are usually cheap, I've never paid much for one, and there extremely hardy for the most part. Just don't give em too much flow or too much lighting and when kept at optimal conditions, expect to be fragging them alot. :D

honestly, ive never acclimated a shroom. I dont even temp acclimate. I just throw them in.

And i do it plenty. Im always taking out shrooms from my tank, and just toss them in my wifes.

Never lost a one.

lol tk, I think you nailed it on the head with that comment.

Just FYI though, as hardy as they can be, I often loose my shrooms when trying to frag em. don't know what it is about the shrooms in my tank, but they like to brown jelly up on me when fragged. Nothing else in my tank does this, but the shrooms just don't like being manually cut. The norm that I hear is that you can take a shroom, stick it in a blender, and throw the contents in the tank to seed em everywhere, lol, but I wouldn't try that myself. Their hardiness can vary per tank, but as a general rule of thumb, their bulletproof litter buggers.
