JELWYOMING
I just bought a real nice orange RBTA from LA. I want to take all precausions before I put it in the tank. My concerns stem from a BTA that I've had for serveral years. It was doing real well, then over the last year it deteriorated greatly. It is starting to recover, but before I add this one, I want to make sure that I don't over look anything in preparing for it's location, and acclimate it properly.
For one, what are the different ways that you are using to get the BTA loose from the shipping bag. I know that their foot can be damaged very easily, and that it's about a goner if you do.
Are you drip acclimating them? What period of time?
How are you setting them in the tank? On the bottom out of the light, or high near a lot of light. The one or two that I have done in the past, always seem to migrate to the shadows for the first few days.
Please, give me your thoughts.
