Acetone Poisoning??? About to lose all corals...

So I've been resurrecting my tank since December (up continually since 2004 but took a huge hit during Sandy and I've kind of neglected it after that other than occasional water changes) and it was looking great until the day before yesterday.

On that day, my daughter was using Monomer Acrylic and Acetone in the bedroom across from the tank room (the bathroom) with all the windows closed in the house. Besides breathing in that crap herself, I fear she poisoned my tank. :headwalls:

By the time I got home, windows had been opened and I immediately started doing water changes but I fear it was too late...everything in the tank is currently in some state of bleaching or shriving or shedding. Plus I cant vouch for the purity of the water change water since it was in the house too although it is downstairs in closed rubbermaid garbage cans.

Even all my snails died or look like they are dying (although not the hermits nor the fish as far as I can tell).

I threw a sock full of carbon into the sump and I am continuing to make water changes as fast as I can make water.

I'm assuming most if not all corals are a loss but now I am wondering how long must I wait to try again with new frags

OR could it be something else? Could it be something other than Monomer Acrylic or Acetone fumes???

That sure seems like a stretch blaming the fingernail polish remover (I assume). I'd be looking elsewhere for the culprit.

Carbon is probably the best bet along with water changes. The only thing --
if you can arrange for the water to pass through the carbon rather than just sitting in the bag it would be better.
