I've recently bought a Achilles Tang and a Leopard Wrasse on Liveaquaria a few days ago. When they arrived, I acclimated them for about 3 hours. I don't have a quarantine tank (I know I should have one) and I placed them both in the display tank.
The first day everything was fine, I had both fish in a acclimation box, to let my existing tangs and wrasse get used to them. I also kept the light off for the rest of the day. The next day, the wrasse was gone (probably in the sand) and the Achilles tang didn't eat. Then the Achilles tang passed away suddenly. Just stopped swimming, laid down and died. Two day later the wrasse did the same thing.
Liveaquaria was really helpful and credited my account, no questions asked. I'm getting them reshipped in a couple of weeks and I was wondering how can I get them to start eating and what caused them to die all of a sudden.
I've also read the Achilles tang primer and I'm half way through with the leopard wrasses.
