Achilles yes or no ?

Ok I had my first Achilles killed by my giant powder blue 6-7 months ago in the quarantine tank then my second one, i sold to my friend because I am afraid that my tank is too overcrowded for this tang since I don't have that much rocks to hide in.So I get rid of the large blue tang, naso and vlamingi.And also thinking of adding one more big rocks in the anemone island so the fishes feel more comfortable and have more place to hide.

I am hoping to set up the QT this weekend and get a healthy good size
Achilles ( bigger than all of the other fish except the powder blue) by the end of the month as a birthday present.I had a big acclimation box that I can put it in for few days after the Achilles fatten up then isolated the powder blue in the acclimation box for few days if Achilles do well.
For what is worth I haven't killed any fish from ick and I don't want to start now.
The ozone really help stop the ick infestation.

But I am the angel of death for expensive fish last year i killed 30 large angelfish ,countless tangs and rare fish that is why I am very nervous.
Should I get one or not?

Yellow tang ..... he is Nasty killed my purple tang and other yellow.
Scopas he is tiny but stand up to the yellow tang.

I want to add large rock in the anemone island where is my flower pot is at ( I was reserving it for a giant carpet anemone )

All in 435 gallon tank 96x36x29
With a very very strong flow.

do you plan on hypo/copper the achilles?

your fish sounds like a bunch of mass murders.

I qt my fish for 2 months 3 weeks of copper with prazipro
and 5 weeks of observation
Then 1 week in the acclimation box .

The powder blue is 8"-9"

that PBT right there is 8-9"? i cant see very well.

i have one that is about 5". mine seems like a peaceful guy.

i say go for it. if i can get my hands on a healthy decent size achilles, i would also.

He is big my tank is 8 feet long and all th picture he is in the back of the 36" deep tank it looks very small in the picture until you see him in person
but i might over estimate him too maybe 7-8"

That pbt scares me. Even if he doesn't beat him up physically, it sounds like he's gonna add alot of stress to a notoriously sensitive fish.

I hate to be "that guy" but "30 large angles and countless tangs" in one year? Thats an angel almost every 2 weeks and since you cant count how many tangs it sounds like you killed a fish every couple days.

If its all because of your aggressive fish that problem should have been resolved long before.

If its something else you need to stop buying fish until its figured out.

I would say no. You are asking for trouble with the PBT and Achilles.

Personally I say nix the addition of the Achilles since the powder blue and Achilles are similar shapes, but if you are that persistent on adding it you can increase your success but you may need to do a bit of work.

Do an initial QT of the Achilles. Once he is ready for addition swap the Achilles for the powder blue. Keep him in QT for a month or two. Additionally you can increase success by moving your liverock around. Making large changes like that screw up the dynamic and should overwhelm the powder blue once it's ready to be reintroduced.

As far as the yellow tang is concerned you can add 2 or 3 more little yellows to alleviate the pressure off the Achilles.

My thoughts exactly. 30+ fish in less than a year is way too much. I wouldn't consider buying another fish until the reason beside that huge amount of dead fish can be figured out.

After one or two angels died I'd be questioning my tank, inhabitants, etc....but 30? Thats just sad.

Please stop buying fish until you get things figured out...for the sake of the fish and this hobby.

All of my fish died in multiple system because of very bad ick outbreak.
I will not have Achilles in my main tank unless I have Very large FOWLR again.
