I'm under the impression that if a fish does NOT eat, then i should leave it be.
My situation is like this : I saw a small auriga butterflyfish , kept in the LFS with a bunch of other BFs (larger). I've noticed some head twitching, but see no spots on the fish. I have prazipro (suspect flukes in the gills) and plan to treat it in the QT with it , but the really decision maker is that the fish has shown little interest in the food that the LFS feeds it (when i request to see).
Wondering how much success people have with fish who don't eat (for about a week) , to take home and treat ? The threadfin butterflyfish is beginner-friendly, but not exceptionally hardy, so should i pass or take a gamble ? It's not expensive, but dying fish tax me emotionally.
Your thoughts ? Every fish i've gotten i've made sure ate, so i'm seeing if i should gamble with a semi-hardy fish.
Thanks in advance.
