Acid

I am going to do an acid wash on some rock i have. Just wanted to make sure it wouldn't have any lasting affects on the container i do it in. I would like to do it in the brute can i mix water in but not if its going to cause any problems when i use it to hold water again. Anyone know if this is safe or if will cause any kind of chemical to start releasing from the can or anything like that.

I have never had an issue with Muriatic, I used my Brute several times and a salt bucket the last time. No damage to it at all, could not tell it had been used for the purpose. Be sure and wash it out well afterwards to get the funk off it.

I've also used muriatic acid in a salt bucket, followed up with a bleach wash, and still am using the buckets today. As sirreal, just be sure to wash the bucket really well before you use it for anything else.

You probably already know this, but be sure to dilute the muriatc acid by having your bucket with an appropriate amount of water, then adding ACID TO WATER, not the other way around.

And also, props on the black lotus avatar.

thanks guys, i have used muriatic just never in a container that i was going to store water in.

Yeah i wish that avatar was a picture of a card i have not just one i found online.

Not sure but I suspect the plastic jug the muriatic acid is stored in and the garbage can/salt bucket are very similar in their chemical composition.

Should be no issue.
