ACII keeps freaking out.

Hi Curt,

I've had an ACII for about 4 years now and recently it has started displaying the wrong temp, pH, and ORP.

The temp drops to 62, pH to 6.? and ORP to 450. These problems remain even after a full reset of the controller.

Any ideas?

Edited to say that the controller is powered through a surge protected but not battery backed up outlet on a UPS.

And, sometimes it resets itself to the correct readings.

Is the fluctuations caused by something being turned on and off? I have a cat that likes to chew on cords. Just throwing out suggestions.

Nope, no cats. LOL.

As far as something turning on/off, I'm not really sure. Same equipment, connections, and program for quite a while.

I had mine previously do that and had to replace the whole unit....out of warranty

That's what I was thinking.

Unplug each probe one a time and see if that affects the readings. Also, if you have a serial cable plugged in, try unplugging and see if the readings return to normal. If so, then you have a ground loop and need to get an isolator (part #SERIPC9).

Nope. Looks dead. Fortunately I had a "backup" controller for my new tank.
