ACII not taking program changes

I have attempted to change any part of my ACII's program and it is not accepting any changes. I tried two different ways-

1. With my serial cable unplugged and unit working stand alone, I manually went into the menu and went to Modify State and just attempted to change a timed event to have it be a half hour earlier. It allows me to edit the state and then I hit select a few more times to keep the same Timer Name and then when I finish editing the entry, it just resets back to the original time. The same thing happend when I tried to change the temperature settings as well.

2. I also tried with the serial cable plugged in and on the computer going into Aquanotes and going into the program configuration screen and making the changes. I made the changes, clicked update, it appeared to update the controller. I closed that window and then opened it back up and it was set back to the original state.

I have also been getting some wierd readings from my ph probe, but I think it is just not taking the recalibration when I do it because of the same problem.

Is it something I did to lock it down or something I am doing wrong? Thanks.

you have to "reset" the controller sort of like windows :)

unplug the controller from the ac and remove the battery for about 10 seconds. plug everything back in and you should be good to go.

you won't lose programing or anything. the time will be off until the controller updates and gets the time from the pc. as long as you have the auto time option "on".

Alright, I tried that, but pulled and replaced the battery very quickly because I did not want to lose the program. I will try it for longer tonight. Thanks.

Could that also affect the PH calibration?

I have had this problem for a while now. It seems I have to unplug it, remove the battery and then plug it back in every time I want to make a change. I have asked before and was told to plug it into its own outlet. I did this and it still has the same problem. Is there anything else I can try? I am tired of plugging and unplugging anytime I want to make a change.

Thanks,

Clint

The eeprom lockout is likely caused by power spikes. When the aquacontroller 2 detects an internal inconsistency it resets itself and locks out writes to the eeprom until a power cycle. Make sure that the AC2 is plugged into a surge protected power strip. Coil up the AC2 power cord and other nearby appliances' cords. Physically separate them from the AC2's power cord.

I have my tunzes running through my ups backup. Should I plug the acII into the backup as well? Would this help eliminate this problem?
