ACII - Parallel to Serial connection

Kevin,

I don't think a parallel port can be used. Do you have a USB port available ? If so you can use a USB to Serial converter.

Last time I checked, Aquanotes looked at the Com ports to control. The only thing you can change in Aquanotes, when using ACII is the com port.

If you have software that can redirect a com port to the LPT1 port (printer port) then you should be able to do it.

Some people currently redirect a com port to an IP address to control the ACII via wireless ethernet port.

I would agree with Kevin. Why would you want to monopolize your LPT1 with the AquaController.? You are better off using the USB or Ethernet converter.

I do have a USB port available. Any particular usb to serial converter to use?

And, just to verify, will it be possible to control the ACII through the USB to Serial (to ACII)

Thanks, Kevin

(adding on again....)

It really dosn't matter to me if I use a USB or Parallel port, I will be using a dedicated computer connected to the ACII, and it does not have a serial port.

I do like the idea of the serial to wireless idea, but it's a little more than I want to spend.
