ACjr and new pinpoint pH probe

ok, I recently hooked up the ACjr (bought the new pH pinpoint probe from another place) when I attempted to calibrate the probe, using it for my calcium reactor, with a 4.0 solution the readings are way off, 5.83 but let it settle and used the 7.0 solution again way off, 6.45 but again let the value settle, then the AC jr says that the "probe is defective" and resets previous values. Do you have to let the probe acclimate to the tank before you attempt to calibrate?...please help

pH probes don't have much a break-in period. It does sound like the probe has a problem; I'd try a different pH probe.
