Acro compatibility and spacing.

I have a Bali green Slimer that has grown well and had great polyp extension ect. I have multiple sps and the others that should have good polyp extension do. I placed a blue tip acro and a mystery(I think its going to be tri color) acro about 3 inches in either direction. Would this cause issues because lately it is browning a little and has not had good polyp extension. Everything else looks good and I even have a bleached donated coral that is recovering in my tank. I miss the bright green fuzzy guy. If it is fighting with the others I could move it. I just hate to mess with it because it looked so good not long ago.
This is a month ago

Ive never had too much of an issue with acros until they touch each other. Are there any other corals in the area that might have sweepers?

Nope, not in the area. Ill monitor it. Still green just not as green. I wonder if adding acro's in the area reduced flow and its being ****y about it.

It'll bounce back, green slimmer is one of the toughest SPS around, mines was getting stung by a nem for months before I removed the nem.

Most of the time other acros shouldn't affected it unless they touch like Brett mentioned, how long has it been there? Either way its not happy at the moment, could be lighting changes(Bulb life), flow, drastic changes to Alk or Cal, or water quality has dropped. I have also experienced the opposite were the water was too clean and the coral starves and browns out. I would leave it for a bit and then try moving it if you don't see changes in 2-3 weeks

Will do if it doesn't show signs of improving. I feed oyster feast and phyto daily. I have been a few weeks, well more like a month behind on water Changes. I test sg, alk, calc, mag, n03, and po4.Maybe a trace element I don't test for is out of wack.. Alk and calcium are solid. Did a wc today and I'll do an extra wc as a precaution. Bulbs are rotated out, 8 month rotation with monthly spacing. Thank you for the feedback.

A good indicator of something bad with the system is birdsnest, they are the first to go and the most sensitive. If they go bad you need to adjust quickly or the acros are next

Good to know, birdsnest, monti, digi, other acros, and
Pocillopora all look good so maybe it's a fluke.

From my experience, they can "touch" or grow next to each other if they are of the same species. Problem is that there are SOOO many species in our tanks that this is rarely the case.

I have some unknown acro that has cuddled up with a red cap. It has actually turned into a shelf where it overlaps the cap. Pretty wild looking.

I'm wondering if my po4 is too low. Oxymoron. I have a Hanna phosphate checker but I ran out of powder. I ordered more so I will be able to check tomorrow. My mag was a little low , 1240 but I don't t think enough to matter.

Damn po4 was creeping up. At .17 via Hanna despite Gfo. I wonder if oyster feast has a lot of po4 in it because I noticed my Slimer started looking off when I started adding it. I put in the appropriate amount of phos e in and I will change my Gfo prematurely this month. I have a dual reactor and I think I put too much carbon in slowing the flow too much.
