Acro Deepwater Deranensis

Over on the website for Atlantis Aquarium (a online livestock retailer), they have a SPS (ish) coral that I saw in a store recently. They are calling it "Acro Deepwater Deranensis". I have never seen anything like it before - the polyps are huge for what you would typically think of as an SPS coral. Check this out...

Those polyps, if this is like the one I was looking at yesterday, are about 3/16 - 1/4 inch across. Anyone know what this REALLY is?

Not without a skeletal analysis Have you asked Eric Borneman?

Here is the Australian Marine Institute of Science's information on them. It doesn't sound very deep water.

It looks to have more of the growth of Anacropora species.
