all my tank parameters are stable:
CA @ 420
ALK @ 8-9
Nitrates < 1 ppm
Phospates 0
Mg 1320
(all measured with salifert)

The lightings is 84 LEDs

is this Acropora Eating Flat Worms?
the seem to be going from top tip downwards into the acropora...

All were doing well, but when one of the corals stung the acropora (the one in the first two images) and i think that it started this... but now it has started to spread to other acros...

kindly help...

AEFW eats the tissue and leaves bare skeleton in their paths. Yours look like the irritation similar to a red bug infestation.

check them out.. actually had a similar crab with lotta hair as in pic 4... in another acro.. so removed the crab - think its a gorilla crab!!! ...

check at the bottom of both the corals.. couldnt find anything differnt..except some orange spots in the acros...

the issue :
1. there were about 20-30 orange spots in the acros.. but couldnt find any golden/brown eggs to say they are AEFW...
2. and the shape of these oranges were really circular...so not sure whether they are red-bugs also...
3. the parts of the acro are not turning white in circular blotches as shown in many images of that of AEFW... the tip of the polyp area is what is turning white.. not the stem of the acro...

will try to get an image ..as my camera is not good enough to capture them...

with the above 3 observations, can it be the crab that is eating? as first the tip of the acros are turning whitish... now it is on 4 acros of which 2 are frags.. all the acros are in the tank currently... if i do the "interceptor" for the whole tank, it will kill all the crabs (good and bad) and i dont have any shrimps currently.. so is that alright?

i did locate another bushy-hairy crab (Gorilla crab i think) that i lost into the rocks when i wanted to catch it.. it is still hovering in there...

Red bugs are like coral fleas or ticks. They are very small and difficult to see without magnification. They often have yellow bodies and red heads. There is controversy as to whether they lay eggs or not. Tank wide treatment with Interceptor (a canine mange medication - mange is caused by small arthropods and red bugs are small arthropods) is easy and effective.

but these are orangish in color and circular... dont know whether they are red-bugs...

but if it is the gorilla crab, then i better off wait till night and check out whether it comes out to eat the acros right? as only the tips are missing... in the first image, only teh polpys are missing ... that results in teh whitish patch along the polpy area...
