ok so a couple of days ago i noticed some t/n on one of my acros it didn't look to bad so i kept an eye on it, well a few days go by and it's worse so i dipped and made a couple of frags (if it was at the point of no return) so tonight i'm checking the tank about 3 hours after lights out just to see what i can see and i saw a worm of some sort it retracted very quickly it was about the size of cigarette butt any one know what this might be sorry, i can't provide a pic it moves way to fast !

If it's dark in color, and you saw it nipping at the coral, I don't know the name, but yes, they eat coral, and they are nasty, get it out asap.! You also should wear gloves when handling that type, some of the ones that eat coral have little hairs/spines along their bodies like a bristle worm, if they do, they carry a poison that some people are allergic to.

it was a worm and it was the thickness of a cigarette it did look kind of like a bristle worm but the colour was alot different i will try to get a pic tonight it had spines all down it's body but short thick ones ant it glowed greenish blue under actinics as i said i'm now sure it is eating my coral the t/n i noticed was on the under side of a few branches and i initially thought in looked like something was taking bites out of it so i watched my coral beauty for awhile and well it never paid much attention to that particular one so out of curiosity and i wanted to see my awesome polyp extension at night i saw a flash near it so i waited another hour and went back and sure enough i got a good look at what was eating it and yes it retracted very fast
"may be it was some kind of pods. " i thought it might be those acro eating starfish but i have not seen them
