Just wondering what most people keep their acros at. Mine look great and are growing so I don't plan to change them, but thought it would be interesting to see what levels are most common.

Some Acros do great under 250 par, some do best under 400+. I wouldn't think an average would really give you anything to go by because the average would roast some, and others it wouldn't be enough. I think if you have 400+ at the top of your tank, and 250 on the sand you'll be able to keep almost anything as far as light goes. Fwiw, I don't think light is the be all end all. In all honesty, I think sub-par (pun intended) lighting can be at least partially made up for by having really good flow. If something has to lack, I would choose lighting over water quality and flow. 10 years ago, I'd say differently.

I keep one of my acroporas under 225 mmol/m2/sec PAR. The majority receive a minimum of 350 mmol/m2/sec and three of them receive in excess of 600 mmol/m2/sec PAR depending on their proximity to the water surface.
