Hello all SPS keepers,

i have one question about my green acropora. I bought it about one month and half ago, its probably wild/imported coral. First it looked really nice and healthy, each polyp was opened. But after about 3-4 weeks, it started to close some polyps and also color/zooxanthellae started to change. From green to blue-grey. After one week, it stopped to change color, but most or all polyps are now closed. Please, can you give me some advices, where could be problem?

Here is picture of the acro, but it is not very good quality, so I apologize for that.

Goby is just sitting on it. Never saw the fish to do anything to any coral. I heard, these gobys live in symbiosis with acros. And right next to this acro is another one, blue-grey acro, which looks completely healthy. But maybe I am wrong.

Ditch the yellow Goby! Thats def one of the problems. Picture is hard to tell but it looks like that is a maricultured coral. Those are corals that are raised in ocean coral farms. They always have pest on them! AEFW, RED BUGS. If you didnt dip that coral before putting in your tank I would be worried. That coral should be detached from the rock base it came on. The bases hide all kinds of pest. Also, maricultured corals always have a color swing when introduced into a new tank from my experience. Eventually it will come back if there are no pest. Reading this response you can probably tell I have had quite a few bad experiences with those types of corals. Good luck!

Thanks to all for your responses. I will probably export the coral to my quarantine tank and will look, if the coral will start to recover.
