Oh... and its under 440watts VHO... is there any special photoacclimation I need to do with it?

I didnt think VHOs matter

let me know

All I did was take it home Open the bag up, look at it out of water for about 3 minutes and place in the tank

I didnt acclimate because it had been in a back since wednesday late afternoon in LA, there was some airport problems and the idiots in LA and Atlanta didnt get on the ball... it didnt get in untill about 8 pm on thursday night... since I live 1.5 hours away from birmingham alabama where it was, we waited to go get it untill 8 this morning...

and didnt get into my tank untill 6pm today!...

so its been in a bag for about 48 hours!

geeze, hope it makes it... also, there is a white acro crab in it, is there anything I need to do to him?

Need to remove him? is he ok?I have heard they are parasitic sometimes?

Your guess other than Acropora spp. is as good as mine. There should be no need to photoacclimate it in your circumstances.

most of the aq colonies i have seen have beneficial crabs in them. if he is white, he is likely fine. a pic would help

I would guess that looks like a valida to me.... photo acclimate by starting it in the middle of your tank and move up every week about 1/4 until it is at the top..... You will need to keep the acros at the top with VHO to get decent color unless they are deep water then 1/2 way down in your tank would be fine.... if you plan to keep many acros I would be investing in some MH 250- 400's. Just my 2 cents..,,..........

thanks, but MH are not going to happen on this 75... Im about to upgrad to T5's on a 660 icecap...

today I went ahead and moved it up to the top by my tortusa...

just wondering, but can acros touch?

is it ok for montis to be near acros?

what about Xenias?

Im not thinking is Valida...

the polyps are placed to closely together

let me see....

My favorite coral ident page!

Maybe Acro Cerealis
or

Acro Nasuta

Well, now looking at it, it does look alot like Acro Valida... but not that colorful yet, it does have green polyps and slight purple tips... but an overall yellow/brown base... It was ocean cultured in Indo, could that have anything to do with the color????

what about these options..

I will try and get another picture today

I've really found out that most of the maricultured stuff like that is hard to really id until it really grows out good. It doesn't look like a valida to me.
