acropower dosage?

Hi,

Dosage on bottle says at least 5 ml per every 25 gallons. That's 25 ml per week for me min. My tank I would say is about 1/3 at most 'stocked'. It is lightly populated now with SPS, LPS, and a ritteri. Given that should my minimum dosage be proportional to my stocking level? So a mn of about 8 ml per week?

TY!

Do you even need it? Acropower is aminio acids which is an organic source of nitrogen for corals. Depending on how heavily you are feeding your fish, your corals may be getting enough nitrogen from fish poop. You also need to be careful dosing nitrogen if you are also actively removing phosphates to avoid a phosphate defecency in your corals.

I use as noted on the bottle and I like the results. If your doing a mixed reef I like the brightwell aminos. Super concentrated so you only need a couple mils

Yes amino acids are a source of Nitrogen, but I don't know if the necessarily equates to Nitrate (also containing the element N). I ran out of NO3 tester, but last (10 days ago) I was at about 7. It's been much higher, but I have a NO3 brick that is working well now. My po4 had been about 0.03 ppm. I feed 'regular' , not heavy not light.

But if I try to the AminoPower (maybe i'll try brightwell at some point), should I adjust dosing to the stocking level of the tank? In the end my tank will be SPS dominant. It makes sense to alter the dose at least some what based on stocking level (?).

TY

I don’t know if it’s beneficial but I did adjust it depending on how dense it’s stocked. I also mixed it with tank water and reef roids nano. The nano is super fine particulate and I’ll target feed the sps and I can see the polyps grabbing and retracting. I don’t know if you need it if everything is perfect but if colors are lacking or if you have a new tank I found acropower allowed me to grow acros 2 months after setting the tank up. They were dying just withering away and I was dosing n and p but when I started the acro power they came back to life and have been alive since

That's pretty amazing on the results of acro power.. I have heard very very good things about it. So I'll keep using it, but just the min recommended, maybe bit less, and go from there. TY!

Yeah I didn’t expect it. Everything was withering away and I overnighted it from amazon and figured it’s worth a try. Now I use it regularly
