acros receding

I have two acro frags starting to lose tissue from the base and its working its way towards the tips. I have a few other sps frag and they are growing and doing well. All the water perameters seem fine. Ive only had them for about a month. They started to loose some tissue right away and then it stoped for a couple of weeks. Now it started again. Does anybody have any recomendations? Should I take them out and frag the tips in hopes of saving something?

You never know it is a chance you take, I often over reacted when I first got into SPS, now I give them alot more time before going frag happy unless RTN sets in. Are you sure you are getting enough flow and light to the base of the corals?

The one frag that is looking the worst is towards the top of the tank and getting full light. As for the flow I have 2 sieo 2600s in each corner as well as my return pump. I plan on puting a modded mj1200 or two in there also as soon as they get here. Its been a month since they started to receed and it isnt getting any better. Should I frag or not?

I think I will probably frag them tomorrow night. I really dont want to lose them completely. Thanks for the help!!

Base up recession is usually one of two thing.

1. Phosphates too high.
2. Poor flow.

TT

I've seen low alk cause it too.
