Acros sliming after feeding

I bought some goniopower today to spot feed my goniopora. I normally just feed it coral smoothie when I feed the rest of my corals twice a week. I mixed up 1tsp of goniopower with two teaspoons of water as the directions indicated. I spot fed the goni along with all of my other coral which consist 80% of sps. Everything seemed to love it I got a great feeding response from all my acros and the few LPS I have as well. About 10 minutes after feeding I noticed all my acros were giving off quite a bit of slime and my open brain as well. Is this normal behavior after feeding goniopower? Ive never noticed this after feeding coral smoothie or the zooplankton from brightwell aquatics. Thanks in advance

I guess they could be expelling some of their zooxanthellae to make room for all the food it just struck me as odd cause it happened so quickly after feeding. Anybody else?

il have to really dig to find the source, but I once read somewhere, that this is one of the ways of them feeding ... the slime working like a net to catch particles which they can feed on.

Thats interesting. It makes sense, but after the acros had built up this slime they only held onto it for a brief amount of time before releasing it into the water column. Perhaps they ate what they wanted or needed and just let the rest go?
