Acros turning brown

My pink birdsnest, pink milli and a few other acros seem to be losing their color and turning brown. I just switched from a 150w 14k over a 30g tank to a 250w 14k over a 42g tank. Any ideas? They were doing fine under the 150

Could be the wattage change. Browning can also be due to increased nutrients, particularly phosphate. When a coral browns, it usually means the zooanthellae are actually reproducing at a rate that they block out the pigment of the coral itself.

In your case, given the timing I would suspect the new light. Might take some time for them to adapt and coloration to return to normal.

put them on the bottom of the tank for now , let them get used to the new light and raise them slowly as they get used to it . they might be starting to bleach out
