Does anyone here has/had Acrozoanthids?

I've never had.
Would be great to see some pictures of them.
Please let us know your experiences and observation keeping these wonderful zoas.

I found a nice video:

Here is a nice article about zoas:

That way we all have an idea of what they really look like.
There are so many names nowadays...
If you have any of the unusual zoas from the article please feel free to post pictures and observations about them.
Hope this thread could be enriched by those lucky owners.

Aloha,

WOW!!! Great link brother! I want some of thoes orange may polyps! I never have seen some of thoes kinds of zoas and palys! I had a friend in Richmond that actually had a type of protopaly that was very colorful and only sprouted up as one polyp in random spots! Very weird! And no it was NOT a majano. I can't wait to actually read this article on my break today :)

That's great! At least one of a 100 people that have seen the thread liked it!
Thanks for the reply!!

Protopalythoa spp. are now called Palythoa spp.
Palythoas do better when regular fed. When they are spread, like one polyps here and another there, normally means a lack of particle foods or light deficiency. Same to some of the Zoanthus spp.
Hope you enjoy your break!

The page has a surprisingly fair nomenclature list!
Very hard to find lists like this one online!

C'mon guys & girls, please enrich the thread with your Acrozoanthus images and info.
I know there are people out there with some nice colonies!! :D

You can contribute with articles or thoughts.

The first pic looks almost just like the ones I was talking about in my Froebel tank, his light was fine and so was everything else. They came into his tank on live rock, I have a picture on my old I phone if I can get it I will post it!

I can't believe no one is posting, great topic brother!

Not much help, but it seems that several years ago I saw them on a stock list online and was giving them some thought. I started searching the internet and most everything I found said they had very little color. As for keeping them or any perticulars, I can't recall.

I'm very happy that you are interested! :D
Some times people just get distracted with other posts or they don't have enough time, I guess. That's ok"¦

If you find that picture, please post. I don't know how rare those zoas are, but I would think some people would have them. They are listed in some web sites for sale. I just can't post here because Reef Central doesn't like that.

Did you feed yours?
