acrylic cracks repairable?

I just got a 300g and there are quite a few cracks in the top brace that have been patched, there is also a crack at the back of the tank at the top about 5 inches long. I was looking for some insight on these repairs if anyone has been through it before successfully. can a patch be done poorly? if it was can I salvage it? will post pics in the next couple of days

I'm sure if you repair it, it'll just crack elsewhere again..but thats just my opinion.
