Acrylic fabrication questions? I can help!

even 1" at that length and height will eventually bow, 1 1/4" would be ideal i would think for a rimless. a local lfs here has a large frag tank thats 24" deep with no eurobrace and has center braces every 3' and it has at least a 1" bow between the braces

thought so, eurobrace it is then =/ but thanks for the help.

(try to cut down costs a bit, good acrylic is so darn expensive here in sweden =/)

thanks for all your help // blackizzz

Quick question about making teeth on a baffle deeper. I have a 6' long sump, and there are 2 baffles with teeth that I would like to make deeper by about 1-2". Because the baffles are already joined to the walls of the sump, I'm not sure of the best way to go about this.. The baffles are 3/8" and the walls of the sump are 1/2". I can't fit a router in there because the teeth are up against the wall of the sump (see pic).

Is there a particular tool you think might be a good option here? The baffles in question are across the middle and across the first 1/3 of the sump.

Drilling bulkheads

Drilling bulkheads

Getting ready to drill holes for 1 inch bulkheads. My tank is 50 gallon acrylic tank with 4 inch perimiter at top. How far from top should I drill and what is minimum distance between holes. Plan on using a quality hole saw bit is that okay. Thanks

Anyone know how to bend acrylic tubing without kinking it

yes, by heating the sheet in an oven evenly and drape forming it in halves in a mold with a male and female pieces to hold the piece while it cools. Wrapping it around something doesnt work worth a crap, you dont have enough time before it starts too cool and harden before you can get it placed properly

i ment already tube bending it into u shape for u tube

I guess that depends on the diameter of the tube, filling 2"+ with wire can be problematic ;)

Hope you're doin' well, Mr Tab :)
James

I've never bent anything past 1" I do bend up alot of tubes up for the planted tank guys, they are a fraction of the cost of glass lilly pipes.

:)

I would hate to have to try and bend a 2" tube. I think I would rather make a form, heat the tube, then put about 15 psi of air in the tube to make it fit the form.
