Acrylic in Buffalo

Any one ever get any acrylic in the buffalo area? If so who do you recommed? I'm looking into making an acrylic tank and I've searched around but most of the places i've found seem like they just do custom acrylic stuff for folder and brochure type builds, nothing that has thick acrylic for tanks. Thanks.

Although their hours will drive you nuts, Great Lakes Plastics is the place you want to go for local acrylic orders. Dr google can also help too if you're dealing with relatively modest sizes. Mcmaster.com has some good prices and not bad on delivery either.

I called great lakes about a month ago ,they told me they did not make tanks.

Thanks for the info skifletch. I'm gonna give them a call and see what I can come up with.

Dan, I was going to make the tank myself so I really just needed some acrylic. If they cut it to the sizes I need that will be a bonus but I'm planning on doing the labor myself.

They will cut to size, but they do charge for it. Might be worth it depending on the cuts and your skill with precision tools though... If you're debating making an acrylic tank, you probably already know that your seams need to be VERY smooth, like router/mill smooth. Table saws can WORK, but they don't provide the cleanest edge IME. And of couse depending on the size of your tools, cutting large panels can be tricky just managing the bulk of the work...
