I m looking into upgrading to a 240 cube and im having a difficult time finding someone that will ship a glass tank to my house.. my question is... can you get good micro shots through acrylic? i ve never shot an acrylic tank and would truly be disappointed if i could not shoot my tank. Can you guys show me some shots? micro or not. just wanting to see. the tank is going to be 3/4 thick i believe.

No problems for me... This is my dads 25gal nano made out of acrylic...

I dont think you would have a problem. Here is a trumpet coral from my acrylic tank. As long as its a quality acrylic tank the thickness shouldnt matter.

Shooting straight on (completely perpendicular to the front surface) is even more important shooting through acrylic IMHO, especially if it's thicker. I've noticed times when it appears I can't achieve tack sharp focus shooting through acrylic, but the pics come out ok.

ok. good to know. still a little nerv about spending that much and it not working out.. but thanks for all the feed back.
