Acrylic sheet

I'd like to build a custom sump. Does anyone have a local source for acrylic? Need at least 1/4" but would prefer 3/8".

Let me know if you go this route, because I have a tank I need to fix (the eurobracing is cracked on the top panel), too. So, I'd like to know if you find somewhere that sells this locally. Also, I need to get some of the Weldon stuff to bond it.

I'll keep you in Mind if I get a sheet. I'm sure I'd have enough drop for what you need. Also if its just a crack in the bracing, you can probably use a good clear non yellowing epoxy and some fine sandpaper to fix it

By the way, are you the will that works with Shelly?

Yeah, man, I'm people who know people. Hahaha....

I already tried the epoxy fix. It doesn't look so hot and I spent like $150 on fine grade sandpaper and buffing compound getting the front and sides looking good, so it seems like a waste if the top looks bad. I got a quote locally for a piece the size that I need and it would be around $200, so I don't know how much you need to build your sump but it can run into some serious dough quick.

in lynchburg commercial glass and plastics has various thickness acrylic, and they will pre-cut the pieces for you.

be warned acrylic is expensive

Expensive indeed! As much as I like the DIY way, it seems I can buy a good sump cheaper than a sheet of material

glasscages.com is a pretty good place to get acrylic. I just received a 4 feet x 1 foot 1/4" piece of black acrylic to make an overflow out of for 30$. Might want to get a quote on some 3/8" from them. The website says its 12$ a square foot, but mine was a little cheaper when they called me to take payment.
