Looking to build a frag tank...

Anyone know of a local supplier of acrylic sheets in Plattsburg, Burlington, Montreal area?

home depot. Getting the weld on is the hard part. What size tanks are you looking to build?

Home depot is too expensive for acrylic and I don't like the quality they have. I can get the weld on #4 on the internet pretty cheap.

I'm looking to build a 30" square tank with about 16" height.

if you buy the 4x8 sheets home depot is the cheapest from a plactics place they are 140 for a .220 sheet. How about a glass one?

I've never built a tank out of glass. Do you have any skills with building a glass tank?

Check out www.garf.org they have instructions in the tank building section I have 1/4 inch plate for the sides but I don't have a big enough peice for the bottom..

Where do you get aquarium grade glass in that size?

I'm going to check out an acrylic place tomorrow to price acrylic but maybe I will be better off going with glass.

Ok, I ended up going with the acrylic. Picked it up for $130 with all the pieces cut to size. Built a stand already. So who's got the acrylic tank making skills?

I have made a couple. I have weldon #3 here. bring the peices and come over and check out my tanks and we will glue it all togather.

I just put an order in for some weld-on 4, weld-on 16 and the applicator. I'm working like 8 days straight I believe, so its going to be a little while before I can work on the tank itself. I'll be finishing up the stand in the mean time.

In Albany there's a distributor name Curbell with a warehouse in PA. They may have a local distribution point near you.
