Looking for a acrylic sump with a 1 1/2" bulkhead preferrably. I can do up to 48" long but can only go 12" deep. Max height is 20" (standard size of 55g sump).

I have quotes pending from GEO, AquaArt and Natilus here locally. Just wanted to see if anyone is looking to get rid of a used one.

Thanks

Trust me go with the GEO. I was looking for quotes for sumps in the same size range as you and went with the GEO and i love it!

I would be interested on what you find out. Im in need of a larger sump. Looking for 48" long. I know the price really jumps up after the 36" mark, because the price of larger acrylic sheets. Im thinking glass may be my option unless I cam find a reasonable price. I have a 36" GEO sump now but im not sure if it can handle the flow rate of a 2"&1" drain.

I wouldn't think your sump would have anything to do with the drains. It would be up to your return pump handling the water. It will eventually only drain what water is pumped back into the tank.

Nautilus aquariums is quoting $450 for a 36"L x 12"W x 18"T
AquaArt is quoting $420 for the same dimensions.
Waiting on George to quote a GEO sump.

Both are quoted with dual 1 1/2" bulkheads.

Looks like George took the cake with a new GEO sump. Should be ready for pickup next week or early the week of the 23rd.

Yes, George hooked me up with one. Same dimensions as the one in my first post, only 36" long. He even drilled and installed the bulkhead for me.

Nice!

Here are some photos of my super sweet GEO sump. It is 36" x 18" x 16" I think.

George put it together on his own. He's the pro. I just told him what I needed. I have about 36oo gph moving through my sump and a lot of water that drains into it when the power is out so I needed something that would slow flow but function with a minimum amount of water.

See the top down photo.

Water drains out of a 2" drain into the top left. Then it flows under, over, and under the baffles down into the lower left area. Then it goes through a hole below the probe holder. Then water goes over the next baffle and under the last one. Between these two wide baffles are a bunch of liverock rubble covered in sponges. I then have have a Dart pulling from the bottom right of the large compartment on the right (see full sump photo.)
