Is there anywhere in the tampa area to buy acrylic, cut to order?

IF it is cut, I can assemble it... but I do not have the tools to cut my own acrylic.

Not sure if this helps, but Friday i had John at FAOIS start a new custom Acrylic sump for me...

Not sure about Tampa, but I know in Orlando there is House of Plastics, and Farco. They both will take orders and precut them for you. Usually takes about a week.

farco and ge in clearwater largo area.
what size sump do you need I will be selling mine next week. it is 42 by 19 or 20 wide by 16 high. holds 4 filter socks and is made of 3/8 inch cast acrylic not the thinner cheaper extruded.

I'm curious to know why you think that Plastic America is over priced. When I called all the plastic suppliers around Brandon, everyone was fairly close to each other. The difference I seen in price was whether it was extruded or cast and the thickness.

I bought a 1/4" x4'x8' sheet of cast for $160 w/tax from Laird.

Was this price way off or close to what you've seen.

Always looking for a cheaper deal..... :D

there is a place around the corner from plastics america in tampa that is 1/2 the price. Total Plastics if i'm rembering. They are on Kelsey rd. 1/4" for 85.00 4x8

I had them quote me me on a sump and it was around 400.00 just a square 20x25 acrylic sump. obviously they though I had no idea what something like that should cost and were trying to take advantage of me... IN MY EXPERIENCE (I disclaim as to not offend).. I ended up having it made elsewhere for 125.00.... Perhaps they have been kinder to others price wise..

the one being built by John for my 200gal tank is 29x22x17 with dual bags for around $200.

Poknsnok, I guess if you were having them make it is one thing. I bought the sheet and made the sump myself. So I can see why $400 would scare you off.

I guess I'll call around to everyone again to see what the current prices are when I'm ready to make my next sump and overflow.
