Acrylic tank and maxspect xf230

I'm in the planning stages of a 110H acrylic and am looking for suggestions on how to run the pump cables out of the tank to the controller.
I'm looking at the Maxspect XF230.
An additional question for anyone using the Maxspect..... anyone tried them vertically mounted?

I had mounted one vertically for a while in my old tank. It works fine, it just creates the gyre flow around the tank perimeter rather than top to bottom.

I tried 2 250s mounted vertically facing each other, and also 1 horizontal 1 vertical. The sand built up into dunes / bare spots which were not very attractive. Oh, I'm running a 1/2 - 1 inch sand bed.

I'm back to 2 of them mounted horizontally facing each other.

My my DT is a 5ft 110g, and I can't run the 250s over 30% or the sand goes crazy again!
