Acrylic vs glass.

I am going to get another tank because my last one cracked so i was wondering if i should get acylic and if it needs to have a diffrent type of stand compared to glass. as far as support

it would need a flat top stand to support the entire bottom of the tank. Should be easy to modify if the stand you have is not like that.

ok could i just like add a flat sheet of wood or should i need to add like a 2 by4 or something in the center of the board also?

and would you recomend acrylic over glass as far as clarity and other things. I know it scratches more but beside that is it worth it?

personally I would not have an acrylic tank myself. I would end up ruining it real fast.

Yeah, Im with Mark on that. I hate trying to clean acrylic tanks- its really difficult to keep them clear without scratching the heck out of them. What good is extra clarity when youve got a spider web of scratches all over it?

I would add vertical supports to the middle of it, especially with as large a tank as youre talking about.

I wouldn't own an Acrylic tank. I do not have the time to deal with it. I scratched the glass tank. Couldn't imagine what I would be capable of with acrylic.
