Building a home that will have 2 custom in wall tanks. 60x60x30 (463 gallons roughly), and 120x36x30 (563 gallon). Got quotes from ATM, and he has 1.25 inch thick on both tanks. I obviously don't want any bowing, or any worries about issues with seams, but I was expecting 1 inch thick acrylic to be sufficient. First for price, but I also wanted to do Vortech MP 60's on both tanks which are only listed up to 1 inch. Wanted to get some thoughts here before I talk to them again about it.....Thanks.

I'm doing a custom house in Scottsdale with a custom tank. Considered talking to ATM. What are your thoughts on them? How are the prices? Reasonable or excessive?

Ive seen some tanks with holes milled down to 1" thick where the powerheads are going to be placed. It shouldnt hurt the structure of the tank if you decide to go with thicker acrylic. You can discuss this with them and see if they have any other options. maybe just making one panel 1" thick where you plan on keeping the powerheads will be sufficient.

Hmmm, the quote actually seemed a little high to me, I do like their reputation and stability of a large company.....I will PM you a couple local options I'm considering, I will PM you so as not to ruffle any feathers.

Good thought there, I will discuss that with them.
