actinic with halides

hi, i currently have a 400w 10k reeflux halide and wondered what amount of wattage in actinic light,via a tube,i would need to make a difference to the look of the tank?
i use a t8 36w for before and after the halide but it is too week to change the look of the tank, as the 400w is so bright.

How long is the tank? I personally like VHO Actinic. Put 2 of the biggest bulbs you can fit.

Wattage of the actinic tube will vary with length of the bulb. Also do you want to keep T8 actinic or change to a T5 or VHO actinic.
It also could just be the color of Blue you are using now that has really no effect...

the tank is 4foot and the bulb at the moment is arcadia marine blue. whats the wattage of t5 at that length tube? are t5 better than t8 with regards to actinics?
