Ad pricing

This was brought up in another forum. According to your ad, the Ecotech Marine Vortec is $419.99 after 44% off. So does that mean that this pump normally sells for $750? $420ish seems to be the normal price, so how can you advertise it as 44% off? Seems a little deceptive advertising to me.

A quote from a reefer: "The ATO too... isnt it normally only $100? Correct my math if Im wrong, but isnt 38% off $100 around $62.49?"

I'm not trying to bash MD. They are one of the better online vendors. Just surprise that they resort to this type of advertising.

Seems like MD’s bad judgment continues as they have yet to respond to their customers (or former customers!) concerns. Seems like bad business, especially considering how there is so much competition in the market, and other options for consumers to choose from. Don’t know that I will ever order from MD again. That is unless of course MD decides to do the ‘right thing’ and honor their advertised 44% off of what should have been taken from the price of $419.99. In which case you can sign me up for two vortex’s right now!!! (Hint, hint MD)

^^ can't really say they are avoiding this...

since this was posted on Sat morning and

I am pretty sure they don't work on forum on weekends

but I love to see their response though...

It seems that it is merely a mistake. I'm sure the rep Walter will take care of it like he always has in the past. 420ish sounds about right to me?

420ish sounds about right if you are talking about retail pricing for a vortech, but we are talking about a sale on the ad, SALE in this case mean = SELL Cheaper than retail price. FOB

Hello,

Thank you for your post, I apologize for the confusion, the 44% off comes from the list price of 749.99 which is a suggested retail selling price. The price of 419.99 is an advertised price, not a sale price.

I hope this clears up any misunderstandings

Best regards,

Walter

Thanks for the clarification ... HOWEVER ...

"Our MMAP for the MP40w is $420. This means that the advertiser cannot list our item for sale below $420. We do not have a suggested retail price above this minimum.

hate to say it i dont see a sale price for the vortec

but also the mmap for vortec is 419
vortec even send you a simple lil sheet showing the margin your making based on your cost and an mmap of 419

but as long as they never try to sell them for 700 who cares right?

talk to your lfs alot of them sell them for 420 as well
