Adams 60-30-30 now with radion's

Congrats, I think I've found my dream set-up. Seriously, I'm in the market for a new tank and have been reaserching the Radions extensivley Its nice to see that 2 will span the 60 inches. How high of the tank are they? A mated pair of the long nosed, great to hear, I've had them before and they are a great addition to a Reef.

November is my start date of my last build, 60x30x30 Starphire, external over flow, 2 Radions Tank will be Rimless, Eurobrazed, 2 MP60, That's all i know for sure right now. The research continues. Congrats again Jim

my radions are 9 inches from the water surface.

I can also tell you that TWO mp60wes will be overkill in your tank unless you plan on a bare bottom sps only tank. You could run two but you would ber running them at under 50% each. I think you would be better off with one mp60wes or two mp40wes instead becaue the mp60s will push ALOT of water...

but that's just my 0.02c and the best of luck with your build mate

Just an update on the tank guys,

I had a nice surprise around 3 weeks ago with the growth of some brown algae or diatoms (not quite sure on the ID.

I think it is because I stopped using filter cotton and my sump developed a fine layer of sediment on it.

I have since put a sicce hp 10 in the back corner of the sump on a timer. I have it run two hours a day during the night and have been doing very regular water changes.

This still didn't really fix the problem so I have decided to do a 3 day blackout to try and kick the can on the algae and rip it out via skimming very wet.

Any other ideas in getting the outbreak under control?

good news guys,

the three day blackout got rid of most them all but they started coming back like 10min after the lights were put back on.

With the addition of some rowacarbon, daily dosing of red seas 'no3 po4x' and a daily dose of hydrogen peroxide i have now got it under wraps.

i hope if i keep up the hydrogen peroxide for about two weeks i wont have to look at the stuff ever again.
