Addicted to Wrasses

my solar wrasse is probably the most peaceful fish in my tank. It was the last addition though... One of my favorites though.

The laboutei runs the show.

Mine too. He is constantly flashing other fish looking for trouble. I have a supermale linneatus and (due to his size) is the only wrasse in the tank that doesn't get messed with by the Laboutei. Beautiful fish but rather aggressive.

I added a Red Velvet Wrasse about 2 weeks ago. He hid in the corner for 2-3 days, but soon acclimated well to my tank inhabitants. He is one of the few fish that I've had that will swim around my hands take food right from my fingers. For a bigger sized Wrasse, he seems pretty docile. Pretty looking fish, too.

Not my picture, but he looks just like this.

Hmmm... I am playing with the idea of getting only two harems of wrasses. Being that they normally appear in harems, I think it would look good in a tank. Any suggestions on numbers and how well it would work out? Let's say I got 4-5, would I get a terminal male and the rest females or would there be a sub male in the mix as well?

With having the harem hierarchy, would I have constant spats or the risk of losing any submales that form from a groups of females?

Doubtful, IMO. If you introduce them all relatively in the same time frame, things will likely work themselves out acceptably.

I am also strongly considering adding a few wrasses to my tank. So strongly that I've already gone out and made a custom bird-netting lid so they won't jump through it once I get them!

I would love some feedback / suggestions on which ones to get.

I've got a 5' long 120 gal (60x18x25) tank. Current inhabitants are a pair of oscellaris clowns, a yellow foxface, flame angel, kole tang, and a green chromis. Everybody gets along real peaceful-like. I'm planning on adding a pair of banggai cardinals and a midas blenny next, then it'll be time for wrasses.

I'm thinking mainly about adding 3-5 peaceful male fairy and flasher wrasses, since it seems much more difficult to find females to establish a small harem of one species. Was thinking about getting some from this list, but other recommendations and suggestions are welcome:

Exquisite Fairy Wrasse
Whip Fin Fairy Wrasse
McCosker's Flasher Wrasse
Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse
Yellow Flanked Fairy Wrasse
Yellow Coris Wrasse

What would be the best way to introduce my wrasses to the tank? All at once or one at a time? Unless I get lucky at my LFS, I think I'll need to order them online, so that would have me leaning towards purchasing all of them at once to avoid multiple shipping charges. Is an acclimation box strongly encouraged or just something that would be helpful when moving the fish from QT to the DT?

Thanks!

I can't find any male wrasses in my stores. Tons of the females or sub-males. I'm looking for a male hooded fairy right now. But I do have a yellow coris in my tank that was in there before any other of my wrasses and easily 5 times the size of any fairy wrasses I have. It has never even bothered any new additions to the tank.
