So i have only been in the hobby for about 3 months now. I started with a 175 that i basically stole. I find myself spending all of my money on fish, equipment, and anything else that i can buy for the tank. I went to I just purchased a 10gal (small FOWLR) last week and a 29gallon (seahorse for the wife) this week. I think its time to admit i have a problem and i figured i would do it where i may be understood. :spin1:

I've been in the hobby for just about two years now. I'm such an addict that when I was moving, I would look at homes and the first thought would be "where can I put my tank?" lol... I hear you always want to go bigger, so if you started with a 175 gallon, you are in trouble!!! I started with a 36 bow front and now have a 75 gallon tank

My wife bought me my first tank over 15 years ago for Valentines day when we first started dating. She started my addiction. I can not imagine myself ever being tankless, lol.

Hi my name is Dave......(hi Dave!!!). I've been keeping fish since I was eight, 34 now, I've keep just about everything in fresh water and salt. Even through tough times ive always kept something. Reefs have only been the obsession the last year or so. But yes this hobby is terribly addictive but I have found that most of the hobbyist involved are great people, so cheers.

I definitely want a larger tank. I have been planning on what wall i can rip out and have a huge one put in. Once i make some money that is.

One of the big problems is you want to have all different kinds of fish but you learn that some fish cant go with others and some cant go with corals, Some cant handle strong currents in the tank. I have a feeling ill end up with 5 or 6 different tanks in the next year or so. I'm going to have to get a second job.

I got my first tank for free from my uncle which was a 55g and ever sense then ive upgraded to a 75g and want to go bigger but the hardest part about the whole addiction is saving money! and i was in the same boat when i was looking for a house i would look for a big wall that was in a dark spot and that had an a/c vent in the same area!

remember guys the key to a full recovery is taking it a day at a time. btw i havent had a beer in a month now and i think i will break my diet soon with all the oktoberfest beers coming out oh yeah!!!!!

I started with. 55 now I'm upto a 540 which I turned my back half my house into a fish room and made the tank inwall, I have friends who are not into this and come over and see what I'm doing and they think I'm stupid and crazy, to me its awesome.. anyone know where I can get s couple grand to finish? I have a few kids I can sell, lol, jk!

And on the weekends when. I have nothing to do, me and Matt drive around to all the lfs just to waste time..

And then we talk about working on aquariums full time as a job...

Yup were addicted..

When I was a teenager I started with a 10 gal fresh water tank, my addiction was so big I ended with a 250 gal tank with 2 Piranas, 2 Oscars, 1 Knife fish and 1 Rock fish... ( in Mexico those animals are allowed to have.

I ended my addiction when I moved to my own place, no time to work on my tank and I stayed that way for more tan 20 years...

Now a month and a half ago, my brother gave me as birthday present a Red Sea Max 250.... what can I say... there is a huge difference between fresh water and salt water.. this is a huge ecosystem with huge possibilities and huge beauty all over!

I wanted to start slow but it was impossible, the addiction took me and took me bad.. I know.. one step at a time... I am trying really... the plus I had on this start is that the tank is used and was in use when I purchased it, it has a 1 1/2 years life so the cycle was amazingly fast...

I have to watch my budget, this has been a huge investment and even I do not regret it a bit, it is time to slow down.

I know all my LFS in the area and it has become fun to make a little tour on weekends hehehe.

Yes I am an addict and I am working on beating it and become a responsible reef and fish tank owner :)
