Adding a new Red Velvet Wrasse

I have a Red velvet wrasse in my DT now and from what people have said it's female but on the larger side (probably turning into a male). I have in my QT another red velvet wrasse which looks more like a male. The one in the QT is about done with it's length of treatment and is ready to be put in the DT. I'm a little worried because they're about the same size and I don't want one to kill the other one off. Any advice? Should I put the new one in an acclimation box to see how they do first? And if they're doing ok, how long should I leave the new wrasse in the acclimation box?

I'd use the acclimation box for sure if your gonna attempt it. I normally go anywhere from two to seven days, longer is better in your case IMO. Personally I would just keep one if there's any chance they're both males. Theres a chance it'll work out but prepare for the worst just in case. Have you though about a fish trap, that way maybe you can try it in QT first and use a divider if need be. Just some thoughts, good luck.
